Edited by Tom Davies and Arthur Hughes 1993 This early contribution was underpinned by the ‘critical/contextual studies debate’ and pared down the‘core’ element as the promotion of ‘talk’ in the learning environment. The extracted material was taken from research at that time and the content served to strengthen both the links with contemporary practice and the broader concerns of pedagogy.‘Talk’ was the major reference point and the set of case studies developed the variety of ways in which pupils could become empowered by an enhanced use of descriptive and critical language. |
