Memory Users Guide: Re-imagining the World in the Post Digital Age Pete Worrall
In October 2004 a decision was made to relocate the PGCE Art and Design Course from the Institute of Art at Margaret Street to the Faculty of Education at Perry Barr.
The Memory Users Guide Exhibition marked this historic point in time.
The exhibition introduced notions of the theoretical 'mind' and the 'imagining' models as practised by the inspirational / controversial UK art educator Marion Richardson. The resulting exhibition comprised of a diverse range of student work and their pupils' responses to this theme, each blending traditional and digital methods. The principle outcome of such an experimental approach empowered the students to construct new personal rationales that engaged learners in imagination, memory, digital media and kinesthetic experiences.
