The Scream
This project began with Year 7 exploring Edvard Munch's 'The Scream'and inspired by the painted they re-enacted the work which was recorded and digitised.
The class had been working on a (self) portrait project considering expressions They had discussed work produced by the Expressionist and Fauve painters and their use of colour to express moods and emotions. The class showed a particular interest in 'The Scream'. Pupils used a digital camera to record a self portrait 'screaming' followed by using Paint Shop Pro to explore colour filters to express their emotions Using the final images, short animated films were constructed. The curriculum board (above)presents the interface between traditional and digital in this project.
