Lindy Brett
Placement Context Holyhead Ferry Port, Artist/Photographer in Residence, Anglesey, North Wales. |
Lindy Brett: Project/Placement Abstract
I proposed to visit a working port and record the experience by making photographs, video clips and sketches of the ships and of the business of shipping. My plans were realized in a two day visit to the Port of Holyhead, which has two ferry terminals transporting passengers, lorries and cars between the UK and Ireland. I collection of photographs recorded the port structures and accidental details. The context included documenting the arrival of ferries and various areas of the port. Two other relevant sites complemented the set of work. A selection of photographs has been identified to show as a small exhibition at the Ucheldre Centre in Holyhead. This was an empowering experience opening up future directions for my personal studio work. |
Hannah Bettridge
Placement Context Photography Studio, Dot Factory, Manchester |
Hannah Bettridge: Project/Placement Abstract
‘Inquisitive’ was an exhibition project that I participated in to discover more about the photography industry. I spent three full days ‘camera assisting’ as well as ‘production assisting’ on two photo-shoots. In addition I spent one day in the office of The Dot Factory helping print and put together a ‘look book’ collection. The idea of the project was to expand my knowledge of the studio environment and the various roles involved. Beyond the course I intend working in this field and the SICAP opportunity provided access to these individual roles and responsibilities. |
